Roasting

Prior to roasting, green coffee, which has been received in burlap bags or super sacks, is cleaned and then loaded to green coffee storage bins. From there it is blended and conveyed to the roasters. Coffee is then batch roasted to the exacting specifications of our customers using Probat or Jabez Burn roasters. Upon completion of the roasting process, the whole roasted beans are discharged from the roaster and cooled. After cooling, the whole beans are sent through a de-stoner to remove heavy density material and then on to whole roast storage bins where the coffee is given time to equilibrate.

Our Jabez Burns Roasters have the capacity to roast 1,800,000 pounds monthly, which, in addition to the 900,000 pound monthly capacity on the Probat Roaster yields a total roasting capacity of over 30,000,000 pounds annually.
